Angie Jones – GUEST LECTURER | KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Since 1994, Angie Jones has led animation for award-winning films, games, and commercials. With deep roots in creative direction and team leadership, she helps studios and artists unlock clarity, momentum, and purpose—especially during disruption or reinvention.

Angie holds an MFA in painting from Laguna College of Art + Design. She spent seven years as a professor at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, developing curriculum and mentoring emerging animators. Her cross-disciplinary background blends classical art training with decades of production experience, giving her a unique perspective on how story, Design, and technology intersect.

Angie, a sought-after speaker and advisor, brings sharp humor and candid insight to every engagement. She offers practical strategies for staying creative under pressure, leading original work in the age of automation, and thriving alongside emerging technologies like AI. Her talks help artists and studios navigate the tension between innovation and authenticity.

Angie has spoken at GDC, SXSW, SIGGRAPH, CTN, NAB, and USC; served as a juror for SIGGRAPH’s Electronic Theater; sat on the LA Film School Board of Directors; and advises creative tools companies including SideFX (Houdini), Faceware, and SyncSketch.

Whether delivering a keynote, leading a masterclass, or guiding creative leaders through change, Angie equips teams to lead with story, adapt with vision, and create with impact.

When not directing animation or advising creatives, Angie paints massive neon canvases at the Brewery Artist Lofts in DTLA, with Bacon the Cat—her skeptical studio critic and co-conspirator.
